Billionaires Met Gala looks to prove that money cannot buy style.

Each year, the Metropolitan Museum of Art hosts a glamorous gala where billionaires dress in the most extravagant looks to attend.

This does not mean they can pull their look off every time.

Business Insider has compiled a list of some looks that wealthy Met Gala attendees have worn in the past, and they could have done better.

Amazon’s founder, Jeff Bezos, walked down the Met Gala’s red carpet in 2019 wearing a classic Tom Ford tuxedo.

He completed the look with straight-leg trousers, a buttoned-up white shirt, a bow tie, and black lapels on his black jacket.

However, according to Business Insider, he had “completely overlooked” the theme of “Camp: Notes on Fashion.” This became especially evident when compared to celebrities like Kendall Jenner or Jared Leto, who were wearing almost surreal outfits.

Critics expected that the Tesla CEO, one of the richest men in the world, would wear a lavish outfit to the Met Gala 2024.

The tech billionaire opted for a cream-colored jacket over a top in white with a neckline of black. He paired the blazer with plain pants and shiny dress shoes.

The phrase “novus order seclorum” written on the jacket’s back was an interesting detail. They stitched the words with white, making them barely visible.

This phrase is translated from Latin as “new world Order.”

One of the world’s most stylish billionaires, with a net worth estimated at $3.8 billion dollars, is a Norwegian.

The Palomo black-and-white striped suit he wore at the Met Gala in 2023 wasn’t the best choice of his fashion.

The structured jacket featured a bodice with a bubble-like effect at the hips. It was the pants, which were a little too long. They made this outfit more unfashionable than fashionable.
